Coffee was once a rare commodity in Hawaii. But that all changed in the late 1820s when the venerable Samuel Ruggles brought coffee plants to Hawaii.

Otherwise, it can be called Kona mixture. This means that it contains at least 10% Kona beans to be legally considered “Kona coffee”.

Usually, this means that the manufacturer combines the Kona beans with another blend. These other coffee beans may be from Central America, Brazil, Africa or Indonesia.
