Most of the hotels in Split are small, the back packer type, which means they are not fancy, but they are friendly. That said, some hostels can be laid back and others ‘party’ hostels (most will be somewhere in between). So be careful before booking so that you can find accommodation that suits your travel style.

Most of the hotels are in the old town so you are in the heart of everything. However, there are few hotels outside the old city, so check the location before booking.

Most hostels have a check-in time (around 14:00-16:00), but almost all will allow you to store your bags if you arrive before check-in. Others close in the early afternoon so cleaners can do their work.
